Orange may be the new black according to a TV show but for one week only it replaced the blue and yellow of St Albans Striders.
The club supplied half of the eight-strong Hertfordshire squad running at Brighton in the Inter-county 10k - Freya Weddell, Catherine O’Connor, Stefano Federici and Matthew Cooper.
Weddell was first across the line for the ladies, equalling a club record time of 35 minutes 12 seconds, set by Victoria Webster in 2012.
O'Connor joined her in the PB club with a time of 37:47, one week after securing a personal best over the half marathon distance, finishing in 1:23 at Dorney Lake.
For the men Federici ran 32:36, a new V40 club record, and was closely followed by Cooper who had a season’s best time of 33:27, both in their second outings for the county.
Andy Jordan was also in action at the event and improved his Striders' V60 club record time by 3 seconds with a 37:17 finish.
Antonia Jubb is another to claim a PB of late with a time of 17:22 at the Barrowford Podium 5k.
At the latest round of the Chiltern Cross Country League, the top Striders positions went to Steve Buckle with a time of 32:50 and Kiera Stern with 22:32.
