Harpenden Town's historic FA Vase run is heading back out on the road after a famous victory.
A 4-2 win away to Rayleigh Town catapulted them into the third round of the national tournament, the furthest the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division club has ever gone.
And standing in their way now in the round of 64 is Dereham Town, the Norfolk side who are currently fourth in the Eastern Counties Premier Division.
They won 2-1 away to former Vase winners Newport Pagnell Town on Saturday.
The match is scheduled for Saturday, December 7.
The victory over Rayleigh was full of drama throughout.
Played at Thames Road, home of Concord Rangers, their hosts, another Eastern Counties club, were direct and physical in the first half and had the chance to take the lead on 15 minutes but a shot from a good position was put high over the top.
Four minutes later and Harps made them pay as a ball over the top found Danny Webb and he made no mistake with the finish.
They were pegged back on 32 minutes when they failed to clear their lines and Lewis Risk scored but Harps had their noses in front again just before half-time.
It was a fine goal too, Harry Andic scooting past a couple of defenders but smashing it home.
Two minutes into the second half and Harps had a two-goal cushion,
A throw on the left from Matt Gilbert was played back to him and a first time cross found Webb in front of his marker, with his left-foot volley arcing into the far top corner.
Rayleigh were handed a way back into the contest when they won a penalty with a little less than 20 minutes to play.
However, Ollie Quick's effort was superbly pushed away by Eman Olajide, diving away to his left.
With three minutes to go though they were given a second chance, Owen Barrett fouled in the box and substitute Arnold Acheampong this time found a way past the keeper.
It made for a nail-biting finish but Harpenden would have the last word.
They were given a free-kick in a central position, about 25 yards out, in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
Dave Keenleyside whipped it over the wall but flush off the crossbar.
However, Elliot Bailey, making his first appearance after injury was on hand to tap home the rebound and spark the full celebrations.
Harps now take a break for a fortnight with their next game on November 23 when they host neighbours Colney Heath at Rothamsted Park.
The Magpies were also in cup action on Saturday, playing in the Herts Charity Shield quarter-final.
However, after a 0-0 draw at home to Wormley Rovers, they were beaten 4-3 on penalties.
Lee Dykes, Sam Ejjayha and Sam Denham were all successful from 12 yards but Will Houghton and Ibrahim Camara saw their efforts saved by keeper Carlos Simeon, who then went on to score the winner himself.
Heath's U18s are in good form though.
They won 4-1 against Welwyn Garden City in the SCYFL with goals from Ethan Oba, Francis Tortora, Ben Turville and Freddie Quinn, and they followed it up with a 5-1 success over West Essex in the League Cup.
Tortora got two with one each for Jack Johnson, George Gutteridge and Nathan Brinkley.
The reserves drew 3-3 in the Suburban League away to Marlow Res, their goals coming from Turville, Johnson and Sam Gower.
