Colney Heath will definitely believe they have turned a corner after a second win in the week - the latest a thumping road success at Shefford Town & Campton.
The Magpies had lost seven straight games in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division but had ended the slump in the League Challenge Trophy with a 1-0 midweek win over Cockfosters.
They then got their first league win since August with a 6-0 success in Bedfordshire.
Only one came in the first half, although there should have been more as Joseph Caffery, Lee Dykes and Jamie Fulton all went close.
It came early though, on six minutes, Fulton playing a neat inside pass for George Hughes to drill home from inside the box.
More pressure came and went for the Mags.
Dominic Knaggs hit the foot of the post after a one-two with Hughes while the scorer was denied a second by the offside flag.
Fulton then became the second Colney man to find the woodwork, the post bouncing out a free-kick that had been curled round the wall.
Connor Sansom had to make one save, low down to his right to stop a Peter Murphy shot, but other than that it was a comfortable half.
The second half brought the goals though that the performance deserved.
Knaggs had already shot wide with Caffery going close too, before Lee Dykes made it 2-0 on 52 minutes, tucking the ball away past Arun Khan after he had received the ball from Fulton.
Three minutes later it was 3-0, good work from Mayer Hajousman in the middle ended with a pass through to Hughes being finished off by a sweet strike.
The fourth arrived on 70 minutes.
A long ball forward from Sansom saw Billy Owen challenge for the ball on the edge of penalty area along with two defenders and the Shefford keeper.
None of them really got it but as the ball ran loose, Owen reacted quickest and found the net from a narrow angle.
Owen then headed just over following a further Magpies attack, with Dykes supplying the cross, and more attacks and more pressure brought a penalty, handball on a Tejon Brown cross allowing Fulton to drill the ball into the corner for 5-0.
A wonderful afternoon for Heath was finished off in stoppage time.
Dykes won the ball in the midfield and quickly slipped it to Owen whose low strike ended up in the back of the net via the inside of the far post.
