Strafford Arms took their first step towards national glory with victory in the FA Sunday Cup.

The Hertfordshire 1961 Sunday League side beat Hitchin Sunday League outfit Squirrel Taverners 5-1 away to set up a second round tie against Club Lewsey.

The Herts Sunday Senior Cup also had league interest with a second half Frankie Jowle goal giving Six Bells a 1-0 win against Hemel Hatters.

TNF recorded their biggest score of the season when defeating Hatfield Seniors 7-1 in the 1961 Intermediate Cup.

Danny Thorpe (two), George Irving, Tom Anderson, Steve Orchard and Jay Telford were among their scorers while Luke Sullivan scored for Seniors.

There was a 3-0 win in the Jim Lynch Trophy for Mermaid, goals from Joe Geddes, Stephen Maitland and Julius Madepi helping them beat 6 of Herts.

Jamie Jones (two) and Sam Jones were the scorers for Harpenden Colts OB as they defeated AFC Boots 3-2.

In the 1961 Junior Cup, goals from Will Orridge and Joe Patrick edged Hopfields home 2-1 against Monday Night FC, Matt Payne scoring for MNF.

Byron Robinson-Meklejohn and Cassius Trangmar helped London Colney United to  a 2-1 win at home to Leverstock Green CC.

Little Heath Res tasted the fruits of victory for the first time with a 4-2 win against Rose &
Crown Mosquito.

Nathan Reid (two), Kieren Pendrell-Smith and Harrison Corr got their goals.

Phoenix Res scored seven goals for the second time this season as they beat Brookmans Park Res 7-1 in the Reserve Cup.

Matthew Berry, Sam Bozier and Bernard Bradshaw all scored two while there was a Josh Pedder single. Ronan Nevin scored for the Park

Brookmans Park moved top of the Premier Division after a 5-2 win at Wheathampstead Wanderers Sharks.

Freddie Bellinger got two and there was one each for Charlie Nelson, Adam Page and James Smith. Noah Arthur-Tinworth and Adam Barton replied for the Sharks.

Welwyn Warriors also won for the first time this season, beating Wheathampstead Wanderers 3-2 with goals from Jon Cross-Hackett (two) and Connor Lee.

Frankie Buckler and Jack Latter replied for Wheato.

Goals from Tino Madziya and Oliver Purton weren’t enough to save Little Heath going down 3-
2 against Six Bells Res in Division One.

In Division Two, Phoenix Res and Royston Rangers shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Joe Curran scored for Phoenix and Cameron Ferguson for Rangers.

Billy Reed was in sparkling form for Pinewood with a hat-trick in a 6-1 win against
Mermaid Res.

Other goals came from Harry Jones, Aaron O’Connor and Paul Kellly. Chuks Oparah scored for Mermaid.

Alban Dynamo lost their first game of the season when Saints FC overturned them 2-0 with
goals from Sam Mistry and Robert Rawlings.

Division Three saw goals from Liam Addlesee and Robert Gradwell gave Herts Vets a third win of the season, 2-0 against Welwyn Warriors Res.

League leaders Alban Dynamo Res won again, 5-1 against Wheathampstead 89 with three from Louis Batstone and one each for Aaron Crawford and Frankie Delacy.

Steven John scored for Wheathampstead.

In Division Four, Royston Rangers Res picked up their third league win when defeating Oceans XI 3-0.

The goals came from Nicholas Curtis, Nathan Dolan and Oliver Merriden.
