Colney Heath turned on the style to thrash Arlesey Town by six goals.

They trailed early at New Lamb Meadow but after a stunning equaliser by George Sippetts, they never looked back and ran out 6-1 winners.

The Magpies centre-forward would finish with a hat-trick while Billy Owen chipped in with a brace off the bench and Joe Caffery one.

It leaves Heath third in the Spartan South Midlands League Premier Division after two wins and a draw.

The Mags had a couple of corners early on but were behind on five minutes, Erza Forde winning the ball inside the Colney box before spinning and shooting beyond Heath debutant Ryan Hillard.

Colney Heath had opportunities to equalise and did so on 17 minutes, with a goal that was worth the wait.

George Hughes made a good run down the right wing but his cross was ever so slightly behind Sippetts.

Not to worry though as he simply twisted and sent a bicycle kick flying to the left of Blues keeper Ollie Skinner to make the score 1-1.

From there Colney got better and better.

Caffery had already gone close with a shot over the top but on 30 minutes he put Heath in front, skipping round a defender and drilling a shot low past Skinner.

It was three by the break. Caffery was brought down by Charne Lemba and Sippetts didn't miss.

Andrew Osei-Bonsu did hit the bar with a header but a fourth Colney goal came just before the hour.

Caffery got away down the left and when his shot hit the underside of the bar, Sippetts tapped in for his hat-trick and fifth of the season.

The first on 70 minutes saw Jamie Fulton cross from the left for the substitute to sweep home from 10 yards.

Then he got onto an Ibrahim Camara pass before going round the keeper and slotting home.

Tejon Brown clipped the top of the crossbar with a late rising effort but six was how it stayed.

Harpenden Town are also still unbeaten after three games, although they have one win and two draws.

The second of the stalemates came on Saturday away to London Lions, the sides finishing level at 1-1.

Hadley Gleeson fired them in front at Rowley Lane with a shot from outside the box but they were pegged back 10 minutes from time by Austin Lipman.

There had also been a lengthy stoppage for a serious injury to Harp's full-back Andrew Simmons and the player himself took to Twitter to reveal the extent of the problem.

He said: "Surgery complete. Fractured ankle, snapped ankle ligaments, chipped bone and a broken leg.

"Thanks to everybody who has wished me well and a massive thanks to the physios and staff of both Harpenden Town and London Lions in assisting me.

"I’ll be back stronger."

In Division One, London Colney got their first point of the season with a 3-3 draw at Stotfold Res.

Denis Bene, Jourdan Kiwomya and Dion Laughton got the goals.
