Shenley Village picked up a huge scalp as they opened their Herts Cricket League Premier Division account for 2024.
They beat Totteridge Millhillians who had arrived at the cricket centre unbeaten from their first six games.
But having seen the visitors make 223, Shenley edged closer and closer to the target, before crossing the winning line in the 43rd over, picking up a five-wicket success.
Totteridge's innings had fallen apart rapidly in the latter stages, slipping from 163-3 at one point.
Patrick Dooley and Dhruv Sapra did the damage, both collecting four wickets but although the former got his for the loss of 54 runs, 10 less than Sapra.
Lathan Mahalingam (46) and Nish Selvakumar (98) set the platform for the victory in the reply, putting on 142 for the third wicket.
The latter was the last wicket to fall but by that point he had moved Shenley to just three runs from victory.
They remain bottom but are now just seven points behind Bishop's Stortford above them.
At the other end of the table, Harpenden continue to rule the roost thanks to a five-wicket win over Hertford.
Andrew Neal was their match winner, taking 3-45 as Hertford were bowled out for 220, before scoring 91 not out in reply, crafted from 77 deliveries and containing eight fours and seven maximums.
He was pushed for the man of the match crown though, Olly Batchelor sharing a stand of 113 for the fourth-wicket on his way to 72, while Usman Malik scored the winning runs with a six, part of 19 in eight balls.
All that came after he took 5-20 in five overs.
Radlett had a day to forget though as they were thrashed by nine wickets away to old enemies Potters Bar.
Bowled out for a measly 87 inside 27 overs, they were then unable to stop Bar reaching the target in 17 overs.
Radlett's score could have been worse as they slumped to 24-7 in 12 overs, but Tom Jenkins (21) and Md Nidheesh (18) dad save some face.
Ashleigh Cox was key to Bar's victory, taking a wonderful 7-32 in 13 overs.
St Albans are still searching for win number one in the Championship after losing by seven wickets to Hoddesdon.
Batting first at Lowfield, they got to 173 with a top score of 45 from Max Capaldi, aided by 30 for Adam Hounslow.
They reply was reached though in the 42nd over, opener Rob Walters getting to 101 not out by the end of the innings.
Hounslow managed 2-45 for Saints.
Redbourn did have any luck either in Division One, losing by three wickets at Lutonian.
Conor Yorath was once again their top scorer with the bat, getting to 62 in a total of 169.
That was knocked off in 32 overs but Redbourn did at least make it interesting, scaring the home side from 135-3 to 145-6 in two explosive overs.
Adam Pritchard led the bowling with 4-52.
Redbourn seconds won in Division Three B though, beating London Colney by three wickets, while Wheathampstead got win number three of the season by 14 runs at home to Chipperfield Clarendon.
