St Albans Striders kept themselves in with a shout of silverware by producing a superb effort at the penultimate meeting of the Chiltern Cross-country League.
The muddy terrain of Watford’s Cassiobury Park provided the backdrop for a fantastic effort by the club's athletes.
The senior women retained their third position overall in the league with Lucy Waterlow leading their charge in 14th position.
She was backed up by Lily Seach and Lucy Jones.
The club's veteran women meanwhile were second.
In the men’s race, Telfer Gray was the first Strider in 13th position overall, leaving the senior men in eight place overall.
The league's final event comes next month in Oxford.
