A teenager from Harpenden has secured a place in England's netball academy.
Coco Williams, who goes to St Albans High School for Girls, is now 15-year-old and began playing the sport eight years ago for the St Albans-based SAS club before moving on to Turnford and London Pulse academy.
She has represented the Netball Superleague club at U15, U17 and U19 level this season, winning championship titles across all the age groups.
Her selection was part based on some of those performances and she will now go to various training camps.
Speaking on the England Netball website, interim academy head coach Leah Setsoafia said: "I'm really looking forward to seeing the growth and learning over the next few months while they adapt to the academy environment.
“We are coming off the back of a successful academy year with medals at Europe Netball U17 and Commonwealth Youth Games.
"We now have an exciting opportunity to explore positional depth coming through the system and grow into their role on court."
Hatfield-based Saracens Mavericks have two of their players included, Victoria Fisher and Gracie Smith.
