The Watford Half Marathon attracted a good squad from St Albans Striders - and they turned in some excellent performances.
In total 33 made the short journey to Cassiobury Park for a popular, if hilly route, round the north of the town.
They were blessed with almost perfect conditions for the first Sunday in February, cold but sunny, and that undoubtedly helped with the times.
First woman home for the Striders was Heather Hann in one hour 22 minutes 42 seconds, good enough for third overall.
She was followed by Helen Cartledge and Laura Hicks with the women's vet team finishing third in the Herts County Championship.
That was the same as the club's male equivalents.
The first Strider man was Jacob James in 1:13:01, putting him 11th overall out of almost 1,200 finishers, and ahead of team-mates Patrick Hayes and Richard Davis.
Closer to home James Bird clocked up his 200th parkrun, finishing the St Albans event in 26:45.
