Harpenden Bowling Club can add more names to their honours board after a team became Hertfordshire men's fours champions.
Having battled to the final, the squad of Neil Sharp, John Osborn, Nick Muir and Tom Muir defeated Buntingford 18-17 to claim the title and their qualification for the National Championships at Royal Leamington Spa later this month.
It capped a fine weekend for Harpenden's men who also defeated a strong Garston side in the fourth round of the National Top Club and move into the area semis.
The decisive discipline win came in the fours with John Williams, Kevin Brazier, David Brooks and Tony Redford successful.
Townsend Bowls Club also enjoyed cup success with victory over North Mymms sending them to the Jones Cup semi-finals.
Played over two rinks, one at home and one away, and both recorded comfortable wins, giving Townsend more than a 20-shot buffer and a match against Potters Bar.
The winning rinks were Bob Lawrie, Bob Padget, Gordon Williamson and Alan Charran at Mymms and Mike Doherty, Mike Cowell, Roger Potter and Peter Thomson at home.
The Jones Cup is one of two competitions where the club have reached the last four with the Bob Vise Trophy game against Welwyn & District also to come.
They also have a County League decider against Welwyn Garden City in their future.
Batchwood Bowls Club had their first social meet and greet event to celebrate the lifting of some COVID-19 restrictions.
Members, family and friends of the club enjoyed a fun session of bowls on the green and a BBQ afterwards.
The weather was kind as the rain held off and three new members were signed up, with the day ending with a very close club competition that some of the visitors stayed to watch.
