MPs for St Albans and Harpenden have urged residents to support Small Business Saturday.
Daisy Cooper and Victoria Collins want residents to "shop local" this Saturday, December 7.
The MPs are backing the nationwide campaign by Small Business Britain to highlight the success of small businesses.
Victoria Collins, MP for Harpenden and Berkhamsted, said: "Whether it’s our local shops, hair salons, independent grocers or cafes, small businesses are at the heart of our high street and community here in Harpenden, Berkhamsted, Tring and our villages.
"We need to do all we can to keep them going.
"That’s why I’m urging everyone to get out and about and support local businesses this Small Business Saturday."
Daisy Cooper joined the Small Business Saturday national roadshow team in St Albans on November 28.
They showcased local businesses, including Terzetto Stone & Porcelain, and Chloe James Lifestyle.
Daisy Cooper, MP for St Albans, said: "Here in St Albans, we have thriving high streets and an award-winning market but my message is clear: use it or lose it.
"We’re blessed with a number of small and independent businesses that enrich our community and help our local economy.
"It’s so important that we support them throughout the year, but especially this Small Business Saturday."
