Hundreds turned out to sing carols and crown the most well-dressed pooch in St Albans on Sunday.
To welcome the first of the month, around 250 sang their heart out to carols in Clarence Park, St Albans.
The 'Carols in the Park' event, organised by St Paul's Church, Fleetville, also featured a competition to find the city's best-dressed Christmas dog.
Chosen by presenter Babs Michael from BBC Three Counties Radio, the winner, was Dougie, a cavachon.
Dougie's festive look included reindeer ears and a red woolly jumper.
Rev Peter Crumpler, associate minister at St Paul's, said: "It was great to see so many people turn out to sing carols in the open air around the park's iconic bandstand - and good to see so many entries for our fun canine competition."
The Reverend also extended his gratitude to everyone who took part.
Clarence Park's singalong was the first of the Fleetville church's Christmas events. The next is a 'Beer and Carols' evening in the church at 7pm on Sunday, December 8.
