Road closures are among the key St Albans and Harpenden public notices set to impact residents in the coming months.

Here are a few notices which could impact residents in St Albans district over the coming months.
1. Wheathampstead footpath closure
Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an order to prohibit all pedestrians from using the footpath from its junction with High Ash Road north westwards to its junction with Butterfield Road.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the north side of High Ash Road, the footway situated on the south east side of Anvil Lane, the footway situated on the south east side of Brewhouse Hill and the footway situated on the north side of Butterfield Road.
The order is needed because cabling works are proposed to be executed on or near the Public Footpath.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on December 11, 2024 for a period of up to 6 months.
2. Drovers Way, St Albans
Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an order to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Drovers Way, St Albans from its junction with A4147 Catherine Street south westwards to its junction with Russell Avenue, except for access.
The order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on December 9, 2024.
3. Beesonend Land, Redbourn
Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an order to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Beesonend Lane, Redbourn, from a point 182m south west of its junction with Burwyck south westwards, except for access.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
The Order is needed because utility service connection works are proposed.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on December 9, 2024.
4. Oakdene Way, St Albans
Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an order to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Oakdene Way, St Albans, from its junction with Ashley Road north eastwards to its entire length, except for access.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
Additionally, all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the road whilst works are in progress.
The order is needed because works are proposed to be executed. If the order is made, it shall come into force on December 9, 2024.
4. Grange Street, St Albans
Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an order to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Grange Street, St Albans, from its junction with Verulam Road eastwards to its junction with Bernard Street.
An alternative route will be via Grange Street, Dalton Way, A4147 Catherine Street, A1081 St Peter's Street and Grange Street or via Grange Street, Church Street and Bernard Street.
The order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on December 10, 2024.
5. Waterend Lane, Wheathampstead/Ayot St Peter
Hertfordshire County Council has made an order to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Waterend Lane, Wheathampstead/Ayot St Peter from its junction with B653 Marford Road, except for access.
An alternative route will be via B653 (Marford Road/Corey Wright Way), Codicote Road, Ayot St Peter Road, Ayot Green Lane and Waterend Lane.
Additionally, all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the road. The order came into force on November 25, 2024.
