As another week comes to a close, a fresh round of public notices have been published for St Albans residents.

As ever, we're rounding up five planning applications that could affect the district in the coming weeks and months.

1. Alterations to listed St Albans cottage

Plans have been submitted for a new garden wall, and alterations to the existing wall and footpath at Jessamine Cottage, St Michaels Street.

2. Harpenden high street set to be split in two

An application has been made for changes to the ground floor front and rear façade to create new entrance doorways at 1 High Street, Harpenden.

Under the plans, the ground floor and basement will be split into two retail units.

3. Part demolition and extension at Harpenden property

In these plans, there will be a part demolition of the existing single storey rear extensions and the erection of a new rear single storey extension with rooflights and internal alterations.

The property affected is at 14 Hollybush Lane, Harpenden.

4. London Colney extension

A proposal has been submitted for a single storey side extension following the demolition of all existing outbuildings at 28 High Street, London Colney.

5. Retrospective storage application for St Albans restaurant

Plans have been submitted on behalf of Verdi's Italian Kitchen for retrospective permission to build an extension to storage area to its storage area.

Verdi's operates out of 1a Clarence Road, St Albans.
