Innovative students at a St Albans school have released a poetry book as part of their Children in Need fundraiser.
Pupils from Skyswood Primary School found a creative way to raise funds for Children in Need when they launched their poetry book, 'Kindness Costs Nothing' at Waterstones Bookstore last Friday.
The novel was especially published for the event and every single infant and junior child at the school wrote a poem, based on the theme of kindness.
Headteacher Bob Bridle said: "I'm extremely proud of all the children for their beautiful poetry and their confident and expressive recitals on the day.
"A big thank you must go to Waterstones for helping to make our book launch so special."
For every copy sold, Skyswood donated £2 toward Children in Need, and pupils were "delighted" to sell around 200 copies of the book on the day.

"Kindness is one of the four key values within the school, alongside curiosity, resilience and respect. Several of the children recited their poems on the day and they were all happy with their collaborative efforts," the head teacher added.
Pupils Alma and Sophie (both aged 10) won the school competition to design the front cover and title pages, which was based on a Banksy-Style of graffiti art.
This year, the children also held a Gladiator-themed cake sale, alongside the booksale, which helped raise over £500 for this year's Children in Need Campaign.
