Homebase is said to be on the brink of "collapse", putting the St Albans store at risk.
The DIY and garden chain is set to go into administration due to financial problems, according to various reports.
After reopening in 2020, the Hatfield Road store is now in trouble again with job cuts and further shop closures likely across the country.
Over the summer, it emerged that Homebase owner Hilco Capital, which took control of the chain in 2018, was due to initiate a formal process to sell the chain - with The Range making an offer to purchase the retailer, but the talks didn't lead to a sale.
This not the first time, Homebase has been on the brink, as in 2018, it went through a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) and closed over 100 stores and 1,500 job losses, including the Abbey View retail park and Hatfield Road stores.
The news comes after the St Albans branch has made multiple applications for new advertisement signage at the front of the Hatfield Road industrial park - these have all been refused.
