Multiple sets of temporary traffic lights have been erected, causing delays and congestion on busy St Albans roads.

First up, is the stretch of Hatfield Road between Longacres and the double roundabout which is subject to a set of temporary traffic lights until 11:59pm on Friday, November 15.

According to one.network, Cadent Gas are carrying out "essential works".

"The works are being carried out to either connect customers to our network. Disconnect properties from our network or alter the position of the service pipe to customers properties," a statement read.

Closer to the city centre, London Road is also subject to delays. These works will conclude near midnight on Friday (November 15), and are being conducted by Affinity Water.

The stretch of road affected goes from the Approach Road junction bypassing the Spar toward Gabriel Square.

(Image: one.network) A statement from Affinity Water says: "We are carrying out essential work to maintain the resilience of our infrastructure with fewer disruptions.

"If there's any additional information on this work, it will be updated in "Information for Residents."

The zebra crossing outside The Odyssey is currently out of use.

At the top of town, UK Power Networks is conducting maintenance on Verulam Road to be completed on Friday at 6pm.

The footway opposite Church Crescent is closed and an alternative route has been provided.

Finally, ending 6pm tomorrow (November 13), are works on Milehouse Lane for a "footway reconstruction".

Again, a set of temporary lights has been set up making traffic delays "likely" in the area.
