A new Forest School has opened in St Albans, much to the delight of pupils and staff.
The Abbey CE VA Primary School's facility was officially opened by Chris Eley, Hertfordshire Zoo's education officer, who praised the school for its efforts.
The forest school sessions, set under the trees within the school grounds, aim to foster a connection with the natural world.
A spokesperson for the school said: "The Abbey Primary School's new facilities are set to further expand the pupil's education and awareness in biodiversity.
"The sessions encourage exploration, collaboration, creativity and a bond with the natural world."
Additionally, the primary school is set to welcome all nursery children to a complimentary stay-and-play session in their Forest School on Monday, November 11 from 9.20am to 10.30am.
