Each classroom (both general and IT) is projected to accommodate 32 students.

In an attempt to boost ecological biodiversity across the school, there will be 12 integrated Swift boxes and two integrated bat boxes.

A statement in support of the application read: "The proposal for a new seven-classroom technology block and associated accommodation at The Marlborough Science Academy does not raise any significant planning concerns.

"The new building has been thoughtfully designed to not only provide a high-quality teaching environment but also be an attractive asset for the school in keeping with the spirit of the 1950's school buildings while providing the best of twenty first century materials and technology within a tight budget and programme."
