A teenage boy has been taken to hospital following a crash on the M1 near Radlett this morning.
The East of England Ambulance Service were called at around 8.41am with reports the collision.
A spokesperson said: "We sent one ambulance and took a teenage boy to Luton and Dunstable Hospital for further care."
Herts Fire and Rescue were also at the scene and confirmed that a road traffic collision involving a lorry and car which left one person trapped on the M1 between Junction 10 and Junction 9.
They added: "Crews from Hemel, Marykate, St Albans with the RSU all attended the incident and the person self-extricated and is now in care of the ambulance service."
According to Herts police they were called at around 6.15am to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the M1 Southbound between junction 10 and 9.
"The collision involved two vehicles, a truck and a black Toyota Prius collided," a police spokesperson said.
"Only slight injuries were sustained by the driver of the Toyota Prius, who went to hospital as a precaution."
For a short period after the collision, police closed lane one allowing vehicle recovery to take place.
