A pair of St Albans schoolfriends are teaming up to produce a documentary of the city's history, with filming about to get under way.
Ben Rose, 25, and Hadrien Torres, 24, met at secondary school and discovered a shared passion for filmmaking.
After working as freelance video producers since leaving university, the pair set up Red Ronin Studios last year, with a documentary on their home city set to be their first major production.
Ben explains: "We want to tell the story of St Albans from the Roman period all the way up to modern times. There haven't really been many documentaries on the history of our city so we wanted to fill that gap in the market.
"We had the idea about a month ago and are currently in the pre-production phase. We're going to do interviews at the Cathedral and all the museums, speaking to experts."
He describes the documentary as a "passion project" for the friends, who harbour ambitions of one day shooting in Japan, the country that their filming style takes inspiration from.
Ben quips that "Japan is a bit expensive and far away, so we'll start with St Albans!"

Ben and Hadrien plan to tell the story of St Albans in chronological order - starting with the Roman era before moving on to the Cathedral and the origins of Saint Alban himself.
The pair have also uncovered some 19th century footage that they intend to put side by side with modern images to highlight the contrast.
"We've lined up people from the community to talk about the arts and culture. We're still looking for anyone that wants to get involved and share their ideas and stories", said Ben.
He added: "If its a success, we'd love to start with St Albans and expand to other places in Hertfordshire and show off the history of other towns and cities."
They're hoping to have the documentary completed in early 2025, with plans for a premiere screening at either the Alban Arena or Odyssey Cinema.
