Major Network Rail engineering work is set to disrupt Thameslink passengers travelling between London St Pancras and Harpenden over the festival period.

Journeys between London St Pancras and destinations including Luton Airport Parkway and St Albans will take longer and involve rail replacement bus services between December 21 and 29.

Thameslink passengers travelling to destinations between London and the north of Harpenden will take East Coast Main Line services from London Kings Cross to Hitchin or Potters Bar, where they can connect to rail replacement bus services from Luton Airport Parkway or St Albans City and Harpenden.

Passengers wishing to travel between these dates are being advised to plan their whole journey, including connections, as soon as possible.

The work being completed includes upgrading overhead lines, replacing and installing new railway bridges and other essential maintenance and renewal jobs to improve the safety and reliability of the railway network.
