Club Batchwood is officially no more, with work getting under way to turn the iconic building into a restaurant, hotel and wedding venue.
With that in mind, we decided to get nostalgic and look at five big names who performed at Batchwood during its days as a popular nightclub.
1. Kanye West
It may seem hard to believe, but Kanye West did in fact perform in St Albans, paying a visit to Club Batchwood in 2006, just days after winning his first BRIT award.
Former manager of the club Peter Bell has described him as a "lovely guy" and claimed that the multi-award winning rapper attached a strange condition to his Hertfordshire visit - requesting a bowl consisting of solely red skittles!
2. AJ Tracey
AJ Tracey graced Club Batchwood several times in the early days of his career, including a Bank Holiday set in May 2017, shortly after his mainstream breakthrough.
The rapper has gone on to national fame, with his single 'Ladbroke Grove' reaching number three in the charts.

3. Matt 'Jam' Lamont
DJ Matt Lamont once thrilled revellers at Batchwood with a Christmas DJ set.
One half of DJ duo Tuff Jam alongside Karl Brown, Lamont is a pioneer of the UK's underground garage scene and formerly presented a radio show on Kiss FM.
4. Sean Paul
During its days as a popular student haunt, Club Batchwood welcomed Sean Paul for a set in March 2006.
The Jamaican DJ has been nominated for a Grammy, as well as collaborating with artists such as Beyoncé, Sia and Clean Bandit.
5. Tinchy Stryder
One of the final stars to perform at Batchwood before it closed was Tinchy Stryder.
The rapper performed at the St Albans club in October 2019, just months before it was forced shut by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Stryder has enjoyed a music career spanning two-decades and made history in 2011 when he became the first rapper to sing at the UEFA Champions League final, performing his single 'spaceship' at Wembley before the match between Barcelona and Manchester United.
