A house could be demolished as part of plans for two new properties in St Albans.
Fineline Architects has made an application to the district council that would see the existing detached property at 267 Hatfield Road demolished to make way for a pair of semi-detached house at the site.
Developers say that the current site is "in a state of poor repair" and argue that its demolition would be good for the character of the area, as well as providing a net housing gain.
Under the plans, two three-bedroom homes would be constructed.
A design and access statement submitted alongside the plans describes the proposed properties as having "a traditional three-bedroom semi-detached bay fronted, hipped roof design".
It also promises that the new homes would not intrude upon the existing homes on Hatfield Road.

The plans have so far received a positive response from the public.
One neighbouring resident wrote: "I believe this proposal will be positive step aesthetically for the area and also provide more housing in a highly sought after school catchment area."
A public consultation will be open until October 11.
