ITV has confirmed that filming taking place in St Albans today is for its new police drama Code of Silence, which is set to air next year.

The city got an exciting surprise when film crews took over the Fade to Black coffee shop in The Quadrant.

EastEnders and Strictly Come Dancing star Rose Ayling-Ellis was spotted on location, leading to speculation that filming Code of Silence was taking place.

The six-part drama is expected to be broadcast at around Easter time, with more filming in the city set for next week.
