A Harpenden dental practice will be able to cater for more patients after expansion plans were approved.
Bowers Way Dental Surgery submitted plans in May to move the practice from the upstairs on 27 Bowers Way to the larger space in the downstairs of the same address.
Work can now begin to convert the ground floor of the property into an expanded surgery.
Currently a two-storey, five-bedroom house, the larger space will enable the practice to take on more patients and improve its facilities.
In a planning statement alongside the original application, the practice said: "These changes will facilitate the continued success and modest growth of the existing dental practice."
Many dentists are currently not taking on new patients, leaving many residents contemplating expensive private healthcare.

Last year, St Albans MP Daisy Cooper said: "Childhood should be the time when we start little people on good habits and good health, instead, 70 children a day have teeth removed in hospital."
It is for these reasons that the practice argued that the plans needed to be approved.
The application received three objections from neighbouring properties on Bowers Way, with fears ranging from increased traffic to a supposed loss of privacy and an increase to the amount of noise being made nearby.
