The Hardynge Choir in Harpenden has welcomed a new music director as it begins its latest season.
Michael Veazey was welcomed to the role on Sunday, September 1, and has been the music director of multiple choral societies and choirs over the past two decades.
In addition to the Hardynge Choir, he is currently the music director of Potters Bar Choral Society and Ealing Voices in west London.
Michael studied music at the University of Leeds, The Franz Liszt Academy in Weimar in Germany - where he studied conducting as a joint principal study - and the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.
The Hardynge Choir will be holding a free open rehearsal on Monday, September 23 at St Helen's School, Brewhouse Hill, Wheathampstead.
Participants should arrive at 7.30pm for a 7.45pm start.

The open rehearsal is for anyone who would like to have a taster of the choir as they rehearse popular choral masterpieces - including Mozart's Ave Verum Corpus and Faure's Cantique de Jean Racine - as they prepare for a concert later in the year.
Music and refreshments will be provided.
Potential attendees can register their interest by emailing secretary@hardyngechoir.org, but can also just show up on the day.
