Harpenden Food and Drink Festival draws huge crowd

Bringing a carnival atmosphere to the town, the day has become one of the most popular events on the calendar, with the best food and drink Harpenden has to offer.

Taking place on Saturday (September 14), the weather played ball, allowing people to fully enjoy the range of street food and market stalls on offer.

It was a day of great weather and great food! (Image: Steve Collins) New for 2024, the sustainability market saw festivities extend into Rothamsted Park.

A live DJ played throughout the day, while Bar Azita ran an outdoor cocktail bar.

Away from the food, there was something for everyone with a live music stage, featuring performances from Strike Free, Pat & the Butchers and the Number 7 band.

The children's zone included free soft play, outdoor games, arts and crafts and children’s entertainment.

There was fun for all ages! (Image: Steve Collins) A theatre cookery stage was also among the highlights, with chefs and mixologists sharing tips and recipes.

These included Crishi White, founder of the White Lotus Cake Company, who provided a master class on her Biscoff drip cake.

This year, the festival took place in conjunction with the annual beer festival on Harpenden Common.

Harpenden Town Mayor Cllr Pip Liver said: “Thank you to everyone who attended this exciting Festival. It is a real pleasure to see so many people enjoying wonderful food, drinks and entertainment in Harpenden.
