A vacant 17th-century pub in Bricket Wood is on the market, looking for someone to take it over after almost a decade of lying dormant.
The Old Fox on School Lane closed its doors eight years ago, with two attempts to change its use into a house dismissed by St Albans District Council.
Property giant Zoopla is now marketing the site with a guide price in the region of £850,000 for an aspiring publican to take the reins.
It boasts attractive living space, with four bedrooms for prospective tenants, as well as three "good-sized" reception areas, a bar, kitchen, store and men's and women's toilets.
The listing highlights its attractive location, with good transports to both St Albans and Watford, as well as the M1 and M25.

According to estate agents Cassidy and Tate, The Old Fox "presents itself to the astute buyer as an outstanding opportunity to enter the hospitality market with its current status as a Public House".
They add: "Needing complete refurbishment, the property is Grade II-listed and could one day be a dream family home of substantial proportions with excellent surroundings."
In May, SADC rejected the latest attempt to turn the building into a house, writing in its decision that "It has not been demonstrated, to the satisfaction of the Local Planning Authority, that the loss of the Public House is justified in this case, nor that it could not continue to operate as a Public House."
While the listing describes the property as a four-bed detached house, it's current planning status means that it could only be sold with the intent of being used as a pub.
While the listing seems to present an attractive proposition, the response to a post by Zoopla on social media was mixed.
One commenter wrote: "I don't think this will ever be a pub again, it's very small inside and driving up School Lane in the winter is quite hazardous."
But another was more positive, writing: "Would be great to see it open its doors again".
