St Albans's motorists will have 12 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

Three of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

• A414, from 10pm August 19 to 5am October 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 both directions, junction 6A to junction 11 - lane closures due to electrical works on behalf of National Highways.

And a further 11 closures will begin over the next two weeks:

• M1, from 10pm September 9 to 5am September 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 9 to junction 8 - hard shoulder closure and lane closures due to communications works on behalf of National Highways.

• M25, from 10pm September 9 to 5am September 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 Anticlockwise, junction 22 to junction 21, Lane closure for Electrical works.

• M25, from 10pm September 10 to 5.30am September 11, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 clockwise, junction 21A, slip road closure for drainage works, diversion via National Highways.

• M1, from 10pm September 11 to 5am September 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 6 to junction 6A, Lane closure for urgent safety fence repairs.

• M1, from 10pm September 16 to 6am September 21, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 5 to junction 6, carriageway closure for surfacing work, diversion via National Highways and Local Authorities roads.

• M25, from 10pm September 16 to 6am September 21, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 anticlockwise, junction 22 to junction 21A, Lane closure for gantry upgrade.

• A414, from 9pm September 23 to 6am October 5, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A414 both directions, Between Watford Road bridge and Park Street roundabout - Lane closure for inspection/survey works on behalf of Volker Fitzpatrick.

• M1, from 10pm September 23 to 5am September 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 10 to junction 9 - hard shoulder closure and lane closure due to barrier - permanent works on behalf of Ringway.

• A405, from 10pm September 23 to 5am September 24, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 clockwise and anti clockwise, junction 21, Lane closure for maintenance works.

• M25, from 10pm September 23 to 5.30am October 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 Anticlockwise, junction 22 to Jc t 21A, Lane closure for Gantry upgrading works.

• M25, from 10pm September 23 to 5.30am September 27, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 anti-clockwise, junction 22 to junction 21A, Lane and slip road closure for non accessible gantry maintenance, diversion via National Highways roads.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
