A heritage open day is set to be held at the historic Smallford Station this weekend.
Taking place on Sunday, September 8, between 11am and 4pm, the event has been organised by the Smallford Station & Alban Way Heritage Society and gives people the chance to learn about the long-forgotten railway line between Hatfield and St Albans.
Among those in attendance will be St Albans MP Daisy Cooper, and mayor Jamie Day.
You will also be able to see artifacts from the stations, the site's refurbished platform and rewilded embankment.
Part of the St Albans Branch Line, Smallford Station operated passenger services until 1951 and ran haulage until its closure New Year's Day 1969.
All donations from the day will go to Smallford Station & Alban Way Heritage Society.
