A St Albans-based activity day camp has received a good rating from Ofsted, amid news that single-headline ratings for schools would be scrapped.
It was announced today that Ofsted will no longer use single-headline grades for schools - a move which is expected to apply to other settings imminently.
Barracudas, which operates from Sandringham School, was given the rating following an inspection on July 31.
The partnership with The Ridgeway-based school was praised in the report, which reads: "Good working relationships are in place with the host school.
"Leaders and staff communicate with them to improve the organisation of daily routines, such as access to additional toilet and handwashing facilities to ease overcrowding prior to snack and mealtimes."
The safety of children was also praised, adding: "The system in place for the hand over and collection arrangements of children is robust.
"This ensures that children are consistently accounted for and only collected by individuals who are authorised to do so. Staff supervise children well in all areas of the club."
There were some areas for improvement though, with the report continuing: "The club offers a diverse range of adult-led sport activities and experiences each week, such as archery, go-karting, fencing, and team ball games.
"These support children's physical development. However, when children choose not to participate, staff do not consider offering alternative activities to maintain their engagement."
