Tom Kerridge's Pub in the Park has announced a second music stage for this weekend's festival in St Albans.

Organisers have confirmed that the 'Headliner Stage' will showcase 23 young artists from across the Hertfordshire region.

The announcement comes after music management group Headliner ran a summer-long competition to find four acts to support the big names on the main stage at Verulamium Park.

The success of the competition has led to the creation of a second stage, allowing audiences to get a glimpse of potential stars of the future.

Having run shows at The Pioneer Club, The Suet Yard, and Darkwood Studios in St Albans, the festival will mark Headliner's first time producing a festival show.

Headliner CEO, Paul Watson, said: "Headliner has always been passionate about championing aspiring talent.

"To be able to showcase some of the artists we have worked with over the last weeks and months on our own stage at a festival that we know well and is local to us is an amazing feeling."

St Albans has a history of producing musical talent, with Enter Shikari having played their first ever gig at The Pioneer Club.

Organisers will hope that this weekend's festival is the beginning of the journey for a future industry giant.

The Headliner Stage will run at the following times throughout the weekend:

  • 5.40pm to 8.30pm on Friday evening
  • 12pm to 2.50pm on Saturday afternoon
  • 5.45pm to 8.25pm on Saturday evening
  • 1.30pm to 5.20pm on Sunday afternoon

The Verulamium Park festivities serve as a grand finale for the festival's summer roadshow, after previous stops in Marlow, Chiswick and Reigate.

The weekend combines food, music and entertainment and has been a September staple in St Albans since 2019.

Tickets remain on sale for the festival which runs from Friday to Sunday (September 6-8).
