St Albans's motorists will have 13 road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.
Two of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with drivers facing holdups of between 10 minutes and half an hour.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that two closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• A414, from 9.30am August 20 to 4pm September 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 both directions, junction 10 to 6A - mobile works for horticulture cutting and planting on behalf of National Highways.
• A414, from 10pm August 19 to 5am October 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 both directions, junction 6A to junction 11 - lane closures due to electrical works on behalf of National Highways.
A further 11 closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• A405, from 10pm August 27 to 6am August 31, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 5 to junction 6 and A40 northbound, junction M1 to junction M25, Lane and carriageway closure for testing works, diversion via National Highways roads.
• M1, from 10pm September 1 to 5am September 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 6 to junction 6A, Lane closure for Urgent safety fence repairs.
• M25, from 10pm September 2 to 5am September 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 Anticlockwise, junction 22 to junction 21A, Lane closure for Bridge structure inspections.
• A1081, from 10pm September 2 to 5am September 3, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound,, junction 9 - entry slip road closure and diversion route due to horticulture - cutting and planting works on behalf of Ringway.
• A414, from 10pm September 3 to 5am September 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound,, junction 9 to junction 7 - carriageway closure, lane closure and diversion route for communications on behalf of National Highways.
• M1, from 10pm September 3 to 5am September 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 5 to junction 6, Lane closures for maintenance works.
• M1, from 10pm September 3 to 5am September 4, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 6 to junction 5, Lane closures for maintenance works.
• M1, from 10pm September 5 to 5am September 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 6 to junction 5, Lane closures for maintenance works.
• M1, from 10pm September 5 to 5am September 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 5 to junction 6, Lane closures for maintenance works.
• A414, from 10pm September 5 to 5am September 6, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound, junction 9 - entry slip road closure and diversion route for barrier/fence safety repairs on behalf of National Highways.
• M25, from 10pm September 9 to 5am September 10, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 Anticlockwise, junction 22 to junction 21, Lane closure for Electrical works.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
