New electric vehicle charging points could be coming to St Albans, after plans were submitted that would see a 'charging zone' created on Hatfield Road.
The plans have been submitted by Motor Fuel Group Ltd and would involve creating eight EV bays, four charging points, three jet wash bays and a plant room.
The proposed charging zone would be constructed at 244 Hatfield Road, adjacent to the Morrisons supermarket at the address.
In a covering letter accompanying the application, Motor Fuel group say that it's "essential" for the plans to be approved, pointing to the government's drive to increase the number of electrical vehicles in the UK as part of its Net Zero strategy.
The letter goes on to say: "The proposed EV charging area would has been carefully planned to positively integrate with the existing site.
"The facility offers a modern design approach, which is both uncluttered and fit for purpose."
