The St Albans skyline was brightened by a meteor shower on Monday night.
The annual Perseid meteor shower reached its peak this week and was visible in St Albans in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Active from mid-July, the Perseids are considered by experts as one of the best meteor showers of the year.

The meteors get their name from the constellations of Camelopardalis and Persus, between which they are believed to come from.
Much of the UK has also been treated to a glimpse of the Northern Lights this week, as part of a bumper week for stargazing enthusiasts.
