Harpenden will host the sixth 'Music in Lydekker' event on August 24, promising an afternoon filled with free live music.

Taking place at Lydekker Park, two bands, The Rockin Appellos – a big band playing hits from the 50s and 60s – and local group, Number 7 – known for their repertoire of songs from various decades – are set to entertain attendees between 12pm and 4pm.

The event, organised by Harpenden Town Council, will see Greeko Grill and Wills Horsebox Bar provide food and drinks respectively.

Cllr Pip Liver, Mayor of Harpenden, said: "Music in Lydekker is one of my favourite events to enjoy with family and friends and I’m delighted that the Town Council is hosting this exciting event for the sixth year.

"Lydekker Park is the perfect backdrop for live music.

"It is important that we are able to provide free events such as this one which is available to everyone and we look forward to seeing people of all ages enjoy this wonderful afternoon."

No advance booking is required, but due to limited parking it's advised to arrive on foot if possible.
