A 17-year-old boy has been released without charge after being arrested following a multi-car crash in St Albans last week.
Police were called at around 1.50am on July 15 to reports of a multi-vehicle road traffic accident on Hyde Lane.
A car collided with several parked cars, leaving glass and plastic strewn across the car park.
Officers attended the scene, along with colleagues from the Herts Fire and Rescue team.
The incident took place near the Toyota showroom which would become the scene of a fire later in the week.
Officers arrested a 17-year-old boy at the scene on suspicion of driving over the legal limit for alcohol, but he was released with no further action.
He was then taken to hospital to be assessed for his injuries and for possible smoke inhalation.
On social media, one eyewitness claimed that the incident has caused three of her neighbours cars to be written off after they caught fire, as well as causing damage to several lampposts.
Fortunately, nobody was seriously hurt by the incident.
