Jo Brand and Harry Hill will be among the stars headlining as the St Albans Comedy Garden returns to Verulamium Park next week.

The festival returns for a fourth year from July 24 -28, with the line-up featuring some of the biggest names in British comedy.

Award-winning TV star Hill and Bake Off favourite Brand will be joined by The Last Leg's Josh Widdicombe, former Mock the Week host Dara Ó Briain and Taskmaster's Fern Brady in the headline slots.

The weekend will also introduce comedy lovers to new favourites, including Kemah Bobb, Jin Hao Li and Daniel Foxx.

One change this year sees the festival move to a new location within the park, switching from the water meadow to a big top at the front meadow.

The changes comes after residents expressed complaints about noise pollution and children being exposed to swearing.

Verulamium Park: St Albans Comedy Garden given green light after row

The festival is produced by siblings Will Briggs and Cass Randolph.

Will said: "We’re thrilled with this year’s line-up; to have so many of our favourite acts across five days is a real treat and we can’t wait to get back to Verulamium Park."

Cass added: “We’ve had three incredible years so far in St Albans, there’s a really big appetite for laughs and good times here. The St Albans audiences are always really up for it, and the previous years’ shows have been a riot!”

Limited tickets remain for the festival and cost £26 for each day.
