The start of 2024 has seen five St Albans schools receive an outstanding Ofsted rating.
With the year approaching the halfway point, we're rounding up the schooling success stories from the first half of the year.
1. Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School
Starting in January, where inspectors were full of praise for Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School.
Their report highlighted the "exemplary education" that its pupils receive, and the "positive school culture".
The support staff give to pupils was described as 'second to none".
2. Fleetville Infant and Nursery School
Later that month another St Albans primary school received top marks from the education watchdog.
Fleetville Infant and Nursery School was praised for its "exceptionally positive atmosphere" with inspectors noting that "Pupils love attending this school."
Headteacher Jen Gardner said: "I work with such a skilled, dedicated, and reflective team, and together we have created an incredibly positive and nurturing learning environment for the children."
3. Cunningham Hill Infant School
Cunningham Hill Infant School was lavished with praise by inspectors in March.
The report found that pupils "flourish" at the school.
Inspectors noted that children "are happy and kept safe" because of the "caring and skilled adults around them".
4. Sandringham School
At the end of March inspectors hailed the "brilliant" Sandringham School.
The report said: "Pupils understand the school’s expectations of their conduct and live up to them.
"Each stage of learning is precisely planned."
5. Cunningham Hill Junior School
There was more success for Cunningham Hill earlier this month as their junior school was also rated outstanding.
Inspectors were full of praise, stating that "the sky is the limit for pupils at the school".
The watchdog lavished the school with praise for it's "high expectations" and "clear and consistent vision".
