St Albans Choral Society is celebrating the city's namesake with a special concert.
Saturday, June 22 is St Alban's Day, and the event will be marked with a pilgrimage and parade, re-enactments, live music and fun family activities.
After the celebrations have come to a close, the St Alban's Day Concert will take place at 7.30pm at St Peter's Church, with doors opening at 7pm.
Accompanied by organ, the choral programme will include works by Mendelssohn, Rossini, Franck, Grieg, and Lauridsen, and will feature soprano soloist and Royal Holloway choral scholar Lucy Mitten.
During the concert, the choir will also present a world premiere performance of 'Ave Verum Corpus', by award-winning composer and BBC Proms Inspire ambassador Sarah Frances Jenkins.
