Nursery buildings in Wheathampstead are set to be demolished for four new homes to be constructed.
Plans, accepted last Tuesday (May 7), will see four four-bedroom homes created at Gustard Wood Nursery with two glasshouses, residential buildings and a 10-metre tall water tower making way.
The application is a resubmission of a recently approved application, with an improved design to better reflect the character of the area.
A planning statement included within the plans states: "The proposed dwellings have been designed in a simple and traditional style with gable ended roofs and various projections.
"Each dwelling would have two levels of accommodation. The simple traditional design would reference other nearby buildings which form a key part of the local character.
"The dwellings would be constructed in high quality materials, including facing brickwork and clay tiled roofs."

Three public comments have been made to the application, with one resident stating: Despite supporting the idea of building houses on the existing nursery plot, we are deeply concerned that the development sits too close to Dapplewood House.
"To clear the existing nursery plot so that it is ready for development will be a big undertaking.
"This will have significant impact on Dapplewood House and all other neighbouring residents through noise pollution."
