More than 100 people gathered to view a screening of 'I'm Still Here', featuring a resident of homelessness charity, Emmaus Hertfordshire.
After premiering in December, the documentary film, pieced together by Hope Film Limited, was shown at selected cinemas in London before its one-off screening at Harpenden's Rothamsted Conference Centre this week.
The documentary features Chris who joined Emmaus Hertfordshire in 2020 after being assisted by Under One Sky, a charity dedicated to aiding homeless.
Chris debuted on the big screen last year, with a star-studded audience including Mick Jagger, his daughter Jade, and Elizabeth McGovern of Downton Abbey.
Guests at the Hertfordshire screening included patrons of Emmaus Hertfordshire, Lord Charles Cecil and Lady Virginia Cecil, High Sheriff of Hertfordshire, Annie Brewster, and Mayor of St Albans Cllr Anthony Rowlands.
The evening was launched by Duncan Lewis, chief executive of Emmaus Hertfordshire.
Mr Lewis said: "When you see this film, I am sure that you will agree that the message it conveys about the challenges of homelessness, and homelessness during a pandemic in particular, and also the positive power of volunteering, are both sobering and inspirational.
“We’re delighted that Emmaus plays a small part in the story and also that we can help do our bit to help this film get to a wider audience.”
After the screening was a question and answer session with the film's director, Franc Vissers, Under One Sky's Founder, Mikkel Juel Iversen, Chris, companion at Emmaus Hertfordshire, and Curtis, a former companion of Emmaus now working as a Rothamsted Research chef.
The film gives a powerful voice to Chris, affectionately referred to as 'Pops', and his contemporaries.
It underscores the efforts of Under One Sky, who despite the Covid-19 pandemic, stepped outside to extend help to vulnerable individuals.

Thanks were also expressed on the night to a group of media students from the University of Hertfordshire who crafted a short film spotlighting the stories and journeys of Emmaus Hertfordshire residents, and the support they had received.
