After a number of vans were broken into near Radlett train station, a 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle.

Two people were reported to have been breaking into vans near the station prior to 10.15am on Saturday (April 20).

When officers attended the scene, the suspects' vehicle was seen fleeing and had initially evaded capture.

However, following a decamp near Elstree Aerodrome, one male was detained and arrested. The second man remains at large, with enquiries ongoing into the incident.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "Due to the incident happening in the train station car park, officers from the British Transport Police attended and took the arrested male into custody and have launched in investigation.

"If you were in the area of Radlett train station or Elstree Aerodrome on this date and have information that may assist our enquiries please call 101 and quote HC-20042024-0222."
