An application has been made to change the usage of Batchwood Hall, after a lease was agreed with Beech House owners the Oakman group.

If accepted, the plans would see the hall's usage changed from a nightclub to a restaurant, bar, hotel, wedding and function venue.

Proposed elevations and floor plans are included within the application.

Various internal and external works would also take place as part of the conversion. These include the relocation of stairs, refurbishment, the introduction of partitions, the removal of ivy and the demolition of the building's more modern elements.

A design and access statement included within the application reads: "Its (Batchwood Hall's) sympathetic conversion to a high quality restaurant, bar, hotel, wedding and function venue would bring the building back into a beneficial use for the local community, ensuring its long-term preservation.
