Drivers in and around St Albans will have 11 National Highways road closures to watch out for in the coming weeks.

Four of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that 11 closures are due to start over the next two weeks:

• M1, from 10pm April 8 to 5am April 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 9 to junction 7 - lane closure due to electrical works on behalf of Camway Installations.

• M1, from 10pm April 8 to 5am April 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 21 to M1 northbound, Lane one closure for Speed / Red X Camera maintenance - Recertification (M1 2351A).

• A1(M), from 9pm April 9 to 5am April 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A1(M) northbound,, junction 6 to junction 7 - lane closure for barrier/fence safety repairs on behalf of National Highways.

• M1, from 10pm April 11 to 5am April 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 anti clockwise, junction 21A to junction 20, carriageway closure, entry slip road closure and M1 southbound, link road closures for bearing works, diversion via National Highways and local authority roads.

• M25, from 10pm April 11 to 5am April 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 clockwise, junction 21A to junction 22, Lane closure for technology replacement works.

• M1, from 10pm April 12 to 5am April 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound,, junction 8 to 6A - lane closure for carriageway - reconstruction renewal on behalf of National Highways.

• A414, from 10pm April 15 to 5am May 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 both directions, junction 10 to 6A - lane closure for central reservation on behalf of National Highways.

• M25, from 10pm April 15 to 6am April 20, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 anti-clockwise, junction 21A to junction 19, carriageway and link road closure for surfacing works, diversion via Local Authorities roads.

• M25, from 10pm April 18 to 5am April 19, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 anti clockwise, junction 22 to junction 21A, carriageway closure, entry slip road closure and lane closures for maintenance works, diversion via local authority roads.

• A405, from 10pm April 20 to 5.30am April 22, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 clockwise, junction 21 to junction 21A, Lane closures and roundabout closures for surfacing works, diversion via local authority and National Highways roads.

• M1, from 10pm April 22 to 5am April 23, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 9 to junction 8 - lane closures due to carriageway - reconstruction/renewal works on behalf of Ringway.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
