Drivers in and around St Albans will have 10 National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.
Five of them are expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing holdups of between 10 and 30 minutes.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:
• A405, from 10pm March 24 to 5am March 25, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 northbound,, junction 6 to junction 8 - carriageway closure, lane closure and diversion route for carriageway - reconstruction/renewal on behalf of National Highways.
And a further nine closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• M25, from 10pm March 25 to 5am March 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 anti clockwise, junction 22 to junction 21, Lane closure for urgent electrical works.
• M25, from 10pm March 26 to 5.30am March 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M25 anti-clockwise, junction 22 to junction 21A, carriageway closure for gantry inspections, diversion via Local Authorities roads.
• M1, from 10pm March 26 to 5am March 27, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 northbound,, junction 8 to junction 9 - lane closure for communications on behalf of National Highways.
• A405, from 10pm March 27 to 5am March 28, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): A414 northbound, Park Street Roundabout to Breakspear Roundabout - carriageway closure, lane closure and diversion route for communications on behalf of National Highways.
• A414, from 10pm April 3 to 5am April 4, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 9 to junction 8 - carriageway closure, lane closure and diversion route for communications on behalf of National Highways.
• M25, from 10pm April 6 to 6am April 7, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 anti-clockwise, junction 22 to junction 21A, Lane closures for Amco Giffen / Network Rail.
• M1, from 10.30pm April 6 to 5.30am April 8, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 6 to junction 5, carriageway closure for Resurfacing work, diversion via National Highways and Local Authorities roads.
• M1, from 10pm April 8 to 5am April 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M1 southbound, junction 9 to junction 7 - lane closure due to electrical works on behalf of Camway Installations.
• M1, from 10pm April 8 to 5am April 9, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M25 clockwise and anti-clockwise, junction 21 to M1 northbound, Lane one closure for Speed / Red X Camera maintenance - Recertification (M1 2351A).
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
