Whether it be for a big new housing development or a personal project, there will always be plenty of interest in land up for sale in Hertfordshire.
Here are 7 plots currently on the market in the county.
1. Graveley Road - Stevenage
If you've ever come off the A1(M) at Junction 8, or the A602 from Hitchin, you'll have probably seen this expansive field on the way into Stevenage.
The 7.26-acre site of allocated healthcare land is currently listed by agent Sworders as price on application, with planning permission already been secured for the 54-bedroom, three-storey building.
"The principle of development of this scale and design has been secured which should aid any future planning discussions," the listing reads.
2. Old Charlton Road - Hitchin
Located just off Hitchin's historic Tilehouse Street is a 0.75-acre plot of land currently on the market for £5.5 million.
The site currently accommodates two semi-detached bungalows and two detached houses, but according to listing agent Optimis, the site provides a "fantastic development opportunity which has good potential for a private or retirement scheme".
"Optimis has undertaken an initial review for the site's capacity for apartments. Offers will be sought on an unconditional or subject to planning proposal," the listing adds.
3. Chequersfield - Welwyn Garden City
Another price on application site is up for sale in Welwyn Garden City.
The 11.61-acre site off Chequersfield offers a "strong redevelopment potential to meet local and regional requirements", as well as a "variety of development opportunities", according to listing agent Lambert Smith Hampton.
The site is just off the A1(M) and already closed to established trading site.
4. French Horn Lane - Hatfield
A plot of land on sale in Hatfield's French Horn Lane could become 18 to 22 flats, according to the listing.
On the market for £1.1 million and listed by Space Estates, the site is currently home to the Lord William Cecil Memorial Hall.
Any offers on the site must be "accompanied by a sketch plan showing how the redevelopment of the site is envisaged".
5. Loom Lane - Radlett
Listed by Lumley Estates for £1.5 million, this site in Loom Lane comes with planning permission for a new home.
"Planning permission has already been obtained for the removal of the current property and the creation of a stunning, three-story detached house with five bedrooms," the listing reads.
There is also the chance to get your hands on a second adjoining plot, with the price available upon application.
6. Oaklands Lane - Smallford
Listed by Cassidy & Tate, this plot of land in Smallford, near St Albans, is listed for £900,000.
The 0.29-acre site is currently occupied by a detached three-bedroom dwelling in need of modernisation, but the plot "offers further scope for an additional dwelling to the rear, which has its own existing access road to the left of the property".
7. Sandridgebury Lane - Sandridge
Another plot of land near St Albans, this time in the village of Sandridge, is on the market for £9,000.
Listed by Tribute Land, the plot is "available for agricultural, commercial or residential use subject to the necessary consent".
