Hertfordshire police have seized a Volkswagen Golf in St Albans city centre, and fined the vehicle's driver.
Prior to 11.45am on Friday (January 5), officers became aware of the vehicle on Sandpit Lane, due to ANPR cameras indicating that it had no insurance.
The VW was then stopped and seized for the offence on Drovers Way, near St Peter's Street and the city centre.
Along with receiving a traffic offence report, the motorist was also given six points on his driving licence and a £300 fine.
Recovery fees were also charged to the Volkswagen driver.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "New Year’s resolution… insure your vehicle.
"Car seized and driver reported. That’s 6 points and a £300 fine, plus recovery fees.
