Hertfordshire police have seized a "dangerous vehicle" near St Albans, for a number of offences.

Following an ANPR hit at 1.15pm yesterday (Thursday, December 15), police caught up to the vehicle at the BP Petrol Station on Watling Street, between St Albans and Park Street.

While fuelling up, the driver was reported for having no insurance, no tax and for the dangerous condition of their vehicle.

The car's windscreen was cracked, and its handbrake not working. Advice was also given regarding tyre tread.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Constabulary said: "Vehicle hit ANPR camera for having no insurance.

"We managed to catch up to it whilst the driver was fuelling up.

"Vehicle was seized and the driver will likely end up with a large amount of points on their license and fined."
